How to choose a 4-wheel scooter

  • Size class: travel scooters fold or disassemble for your trunk. Full-size and heavy-duty scooters are more comfortable and go farther, but usually need a vehicle lift or ramp.
  • Ground clearance and tires: if you’ll ride on grass, gravel or curb cuts, look for 4” or more of ground clearance and larger pneumatic tires.
  • Turning radius: 4-wheel scooters need more room to turn than 3-wheel models. If you’ll ride mostly indoors, check the turning radius on the product page.
  • Suspension and seat: front and rear suspension plus a captain’s seat make longer rides much more comfortable.
  • Battery: larger batteries (measured in amp-hours, Ah) mean more range. Many full-size models offer a bigger battery upgrade.
