Batteries

I purchased a Go Chair for my dad 4 years ago. He loved it, but the batteries did not last more than about 9 months. I was a bit disappointed to say the least.

Now, im a ham radio operator plus I designed and installed my own solar system at my house. I use LiFePO4 batteries. I know batteries.

The AGM 12v batteries in the Go chair are rated for 18 Ah at 25. 6 V giving 460 wH. I purchased (3 years ago) 2 Dakota LiFePO4 23Ah at 25. 6 giving 588 wH. Now two LiFePO4 from. Dakota batteries was about $500. 00 then. However battery prices have dropped considerably and now you can get a couple Eco-Worthy 12v 20Ah for about $125. 00. Don't hold me to the pricing.

One more thing LiFePO4 batteries are much lighter in weight than the lead acid or AGM batteries and has increased the distance by approximately 15%. Plus, you can actually dischargea LiFePO4battery to 20% or less where a lead acid or AGM battery should NEVER go below 50% charge. Part of the increase in range is here.

I did have to get a 24v LiFePO4 battery charger (approximately $60. 00) on Amazon.

Thesr LiFePO4 batteries work great and have lasted at least 3 times of what the AGM batteries did. (This is a real review from a Pride Mobility customer)

I have the scooters but now am looking for better maneuverability. Can these go chairs be taken on an airplane? (This is a real review from a Pride Mobility customer)

Your batteries are not long lasting. Too many issues with them even when a person charges it correctly. You need to do something about it now. You used to have a small current draw from the joystick, and it is said to have been fixed. I wonder if there's another defect, or your optimistic battery span is the main culprit. Thank you. Go Chair

I’m on my third Go Chair. After my first one died, we bought another new one and then a bit later we bought a used one for using in the yard. So I now have an inside and an outside chair. I agree with what a lot of others have said about the batteries. I would also like to recommend that you consider making the chair back able to lean back a little. I spend a lot of time in my chair and my back hurts after a while of sitting straight up. (This is a real review from a Pride Mobility customer)
