What is "Smart Tek" and how can it benefit my lift chair experience?

SmartTek® – Minimizing Downtime with Advanced Diagnostics

SmartTek® is Golden’s patented self-diagnostic technology, standard on all Golden lift chairs, designed to quickly identify electrical issues and reduce downtime. By notifying users of a malfunction, SmartTek® enables technicians to diagnose problems remotely, helping to streamline repairs and reduce service time. It also allows technicians to prepare the necessary parts before arriving, ensuring faster and more efficient solutions.

How SmartTek® Works

SmartTek® uses three LED lights to indicate when a chair is experiencing an electrical issue.

Before Troubleshooting, Check the Following:

✅ Ensure the chair is plugged into a working electrical outlet.

✅ Verify the outlet’s fuse or breaker is functioning properly.

✅ Confirm that all connections are securely plugged in.

Locating the SmartTek® Green LED Lights

Non-MaxiComfort® Models: Found on the two-button hand control.

MaxiComfort® Models: The AutoDrive™ hand control’s backlit buttons act as the SmartTek indicator.

Power Transformer: A green LED light is present on the transformer unit.

Motor Connection: Another green LED light is located on the wire connecting the motor to the transformer.

Understanding SmartTek® Indicator Lights

If all three LED lights are not lit:

Check the power outlet, fuse/breaker, and all cable connections.

If the LED on the transformer is off:

The transformer may not be receiving power or could be faulty and may need replacement.

If the LED on the motor wire is off (but the transformer LED is on):

Power is not transmitting from the transformer to the motor.

If the LED on the hand control is off (or AutoDrive™ buttons are not backlit) and the chair isn’t functioning:

The hand control may be defective and require replacement.

By using SmartTek® diagnostics, troubleshooting becomes faster and more efficient, ensuring that your lift chair stays in optimal working condition with minimal downtime.
