Good, but could be much better....

For years, my legs were giving me issues since my time in the military. Then 37 years of factory work didn't make them any better. Well, the wife and her staff at the HME/DME surprised me with the first generation of the RAPTOR. After the first week of use, I realized that while your engineering staff had some good ideas, they fell short on others.
#1 - for people over 5'10", the seat is too close to the steering column. And you didn't make it adjustible, so I wound up having to remove the seat, move the mounts forward which now placed the seat back in a more comfortable position.
#2 - Like others have said, the back anti - tip wheels are sometimes a hinderance. For me, they would always get caught on the ground when loading/unloading from my carrier. So off they came and were replaced with a pair of roller blade wheels on new mounts angled higher.
#3 - That engage/disengage lever for the transmission is or was a pain in the rear. It only got worse after I suffered stroke two years ago. Trying to keep your balance while bending down to operate was getting hazardous, so that was addressed as well with a bolt - on foot pedal. Now I can hold onto the seat back and operate the engage / disengage a lot safer.
#4 - THE THROTTLE aka SPEED CONTROL. I also addressed this area. While a standard rotatable throttle control might work, if you've suffered a stroke, that won't do you any good. You can't get a good enough or stable grip to operate it. As to controlling the speed with the factory thumb control, I spent the time to figure out where the thumb paddle was at in "LOW SPEED" for "1 MILE", "2 MILE" (average walking speed of a person), "3 MILE". Then I manufactured several appropriate stops for the thumb button to stop against. In " HIGH SPEED", the stops keep the unit from traveling any faster than "7 mph". With my one "2 mph", I was able to traverse the complete USAF MUSEUM in Dayton, OH and the USAF SAC MUSEUM outside Ashland, NE without any safety concerns. And the museums were so happy to see it, that they took photos.
Anyway, I addressed all of the issues that have concerned others. If anyone wishes to contact me, I'm available.

Good and Bad

I like my scooter, but my complaint is this. The head light points up in the air and not on the ground, the thumb control is tiring, delayed response in getting across the road. The bottom seat cover and floor deck went bad the first year, the front fender is one inch to long, the side covers in the rear are one inch to wide on each side.

I love my Beau; it takes me where I want to go

I haven't smiled so much in life as I have riding my Raptor. Drivers are so kind to give me time to get across ... Yes, the throttle is a challenge, but I am learning to control it on High. I have a small hand, and am now trying to learn to use the brake. Sometimes I take Beau inside grocery stores up and down aisles; sometimes I just park it inside. You should see little ole me in line at McDonald's drive in between two large vehicles! I will soon move 15 miles away. My dealer will truck it to my new home. If you want to encounter the most wonderful people in the world, do not let the negative reviews discourage you. Get a Raptor. It took you time to learn to drive a car. Take the time to learn to ride and control a Raptor. You'll thank me.

My Raptor

I have over 400 miles on this scooter. Only thing I miss is twist hand throttle instead of thumb control speed. I took off the little wheels on the tilt back as they always hit the curbs. This is great scooter but be careful doing 15mph on a 3 wheeler. I run mostly on low speed at 6mph. Good seat and leg room!
