What is the UPWalker Original?
The UPWalker is a revolutionary new mobility product that enables users to walk upright in a safer, more secure posture as compared to traditional walkers and rollators that cause users to hunch over.
What are the benefits of the UPWalker original?
The UPWalker Original improves mobility and increases independence for the elderly and mobility challenged, including users with neurological, orthopedic, cardiovascular and other health disorders. According to clinical research, the unique design of the UPWalker reduces pain in the wrists, back and leg joints as compared to traditional walkers, and the upright position enables the user to walk farther with less effort.
How does the UPWalker Original restore dignity?
The UPWalker Original helps you to walk using upright posture, you are able to look straight at your friends and loved ones without being hunched over looking at the ground. You can even rest on the armrests in a standing position while having a conversation with others.
Is the UPWalker Original easy to use?
The UPWalker Original was designed with user convenience in mind and arrives fully assembled with an easy-to-follow User Guide. After making a few initial set-up adjustments designed to personalize the UPWalker Original to your user preferences, using the UPWalker Original requires no more than a few steps to open and close and to use for walking or sitting. All tabs used for making adjustments are clearly defined in gray color. The UPWalker Original is larger and heavier than traditional rollators and may not be suitable for smaller, frail elderly users or others lacking the strength to maneuver a larger mobility device.
Is assembly Required?
No, the UPWalker Original comes fully assembled with an easy-to-follow User Guide. It can be removed from the box, adjusted to your personal desire and used immediately.
Does the UPWalker Original include a seat?
Yes, a fabric seat that slides front to back for sitting or walking with long strides. Also comes with comfortable backrest support for sitting.
Does the UPWalker original include a backrest or bag?
Yes, the UPWalker Original comes standard with a personal item bag that attaches to the front of the frame. Also available as options are a Luxury Item Bag (with a zipper-close top) and a Shopping Bag (larger bag with carry handles for shopping.)
What material is it made of?
The sturdy frame is made from aluminum alloy and other quality materials including composite plastic and polyurethane. Many of these materials are used in the automobile and aircraft industries.
Does the UPWalker original come with brakes?
Yes, the brakes have comfortable ergonomic handles that stop the rear wheels. The brakes also function as a parking brake for sitting, or standing from seated position.
Does one brake stop both wheels?
No, they function independently and brake only one wheel each.
Does the UPWalker original come with reverse brakes?

Is the UPWalker Original one size fits all or is it adjustable?
The UPWalker Original has easily adjustable-height armrests, handholds that easily pivot for optimal wrist position, and armrests that extend or shorten for the length of your forearm. You only set these preferences once to personalize the unit just for you. The adjustable height armrests come with a “height memory stop” feature so you only set your armrest height once.

For the Standard UPWalker Original you can weigh up to 300 lbs., and for the Large UPWalker Original you can weigh up to 350 lbs.
How high off the ground are the sit-to-stand handles?
The sit-to-stand handles on the Standard UPWalker Original are 30" from the ground, the sit-to-stand handles on the Large UPWalker Original are 32" from the ground.
Do the wheels lock in place?
The rear wheels lock in place. The front wheels may be locked in place to keep the UPWalker Original going in a straight line.
Does the UPWalker come with safety reflectors?
Yes, and you can order an optional attachable flashlight/taillight if used at night.
Is the UPWalker safer than traditional walker and rollators?
A research study found that users of the UPWalker Original felt safer and more secure than they did with a walker or rollator.
Will The UPWalker relieve my pain?
The UPWalker Original has been shown in a research study to unload body weight from the lower limbs and reduce back and lower limb pain as a result. The upright armrests also reduce pain in the wrists and hands that can occur with traditional walkers and rollators, especially if you have arthritis.
Is the UPWalker original suitable for rehabilitation and post surgery?
Yes, physical therapists often encourage use of the UPWalker Original when assisted mobility is needed.

The Standard UPWalker Original weighs 23 lbs. and the Large UPWalker Original weighs 25.5 lbs.

Warranty
Journey Health & Lifestyle® warrants all our products to be free from defects in materials, workmanship and assembly. A standard twelve (12) months warranty from the original purchase date applies to the core list of Journey products under normal use in accordance with specifications and warnings and with some limitations, exclusions, restraints or extensions including but not limited to parts, labor, service and other specific considerations. (Specific additional limitations and extensions of warranty, particularly as they relate to the Journey Health & Lifestyle® line of mobility products, can be found in the Addendum below.) If within the twelve-month warranty period, any component or part shall be proven to the satisfaction of Journey Health & Lifestyle® to be defective, the product shall, at the option of Journey Health & Lifestyle®, be repaired or replaced. Contact Journey Health & Lifestyle® before sending any product for warranty repair or replacement. Do not send any product without our prior written consent.
Limitations and Exclusions
This warranty does not cover damage, deterioration or malfunction resulting from accident, negligence, misuse, abuse, normal wear and tear, damage in shipment, improper operation or failure to follow instructions according to the User Manual, component failure, improper storage, neglect of prescribed maintenance procedures, repair or attempted repair or modifications made or authorized by anyone other than Journey Health & Lifestyle®, normal gradual reduction in battery performance due to heavy use, deterioration due to external factors such as extremes in temperature or humidity, corrosive atmosphere or other natural events such as lightning, flood or circumstances beyond the control of Journey Health & Lifestyle®.
This warranty applies in North America only and is extended only to the original purchaser of the product when purchased directly from Journey Health & Lifestyle® (USA) and is nontransferable. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other legal rights which vary from place to place.
The foregoing warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all other express warranties or implied warranties, if any, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, and shall not extend beyond the duration of the express warranty provided herein. Journey Health & Lifestyle® shall not be liable for any consequential or incidental damages whatsoever and disclaims any liability beyond the initial purchase price of the product.
Addendum
In addition to the previously cited provisions and limitations, other warranty considerations for the line of Journey Health & Lifestyle® mobility products (Zinger, Zoomer, Zoomer Lite, Perfect Walker, So Lite Wheelchair, So Lite Scooter, So Lite Glide, all UPWalkers) include the following extensions and exclusions:
In addition to the previously cited provisions of the standard one-year warranty above, the frame, mechanical and electrical components including the motor of each mobility product in the Journey Health & Lifestyle® mobility line is further specifically warrantied for the same twelve-month period. In addition, warrantied instead for a six- (6) month period are the originally supplied battery, tires, fabric seat, seat back and seat cushion, all guaranteed to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of six (6) months from the original purchase date.
If, within such warranty period, any component or part shall be proven to the satisfaction of Journey Health & Lifestyle® to be defective, the product shall at the option of Journey Health & Lifestyle® be repaired or replaced with new or refurbished product components. In some cases an installation kit with instructions may be provided to the owner to facilitate installation of a replacement product component. Warranty relating to mobility products does not include any labor charges incurred in product component installation. The warranty period of the repaired or replaced product shall terminate with the termination of the warranty period for the original product. The sole obligation of Journey Health & Lifestyle®, and the customer’s exclusive remedy under this warranty, shall be limited to such repaired or replaced product.
In addition to the previously cited provisions and limitations of the standard one-year warranty above, additional warranty considerations for the UPbed Standard include one-year service with full coverage on parts, including labor, and two-to-three-year full coverage on parts (no labor), and four-to-ten-year coverage on bed frame and non-electric mechanisms. Coverage for the UPbed Independence includes two years on components and 10 years on the bed frame.
In addition to the previously cited provisions and limitations of the standard one-year warranty above, additional warranty considerations for the Journey Health & Lifestyle® lift chair line include a lifetime warranty on the lift mechanism and frame, and three-year warranty on the electronic components.
